Arunachal Pradesh Annual Plan 2008-09 - Overview
The Arunachal Pradesh Annual Plan for the year 2008 - 09, was approved and announced on the 26th of February 2008, in a meeting between the Shri Dorjee Khandu, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and Shri Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission. The outlay for the Annual Plan was fixed at Rs. 2065 crores.
The Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission said that the state of Arunachal Pradesh needs to explore several other options for generating more resources, in order to speed up the development of the state. The state should highlight on the development of floriculture, tourism, horticulture, and power generation. According to the Deputy Chairman, the state should have medium term policies pertaining to hydro based resources, exploiting which would add to the resources of the state in the future.
