Natural fuel (such as compressed natural gas or liquid petroleum gas,) or a blend (such as gasohol) used as a substitute for fossil fuels, and which produces less pollution than the alternatives is known as Clean Fuel

Clean fuel means fuel without sulphur and lead. The unleaded petrol that we use contains 0.05g/ltr lead, that level has to further reduce to 0.0013g/ltr so that the traces of lead almost vanish from petrol and the human body as a whole.

The level of sulphur has to be brought down from 0.25% to 0.05% in diesel so that we can have clean fuel.

Alternate Fuels
Everyone is aware of the decreasing rate of the most popular fuel on which almost the entire transport of the earth is running. The production of domestic crude is decreasing and the increase in the transport industry is only making things worst. There is a growing concern that the earth may soon run out of petrol producing resources making it imperative for the search of a substitute fuel which is as good as petrol.

Examples of a few Alternate fuels

Bio diesel
Bio diesel the best alternative fuel so far is made of natural, renewable sources such as vegetable oils. The use of bio diesel in conventional diesel engine results in substantial reduction of carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbons and particulate matters.

Electric Fuel
Electric fuel is unique among all the other alternatives because mechanical power is derived directly from it. The most common form of electric fuel is batteries which act as storage devices of power. Apart from batteries fuel cells are also being explored which directly convert chemical energy to electricity. The first and most important benefit of using electricity as fuel is that there is no question of any pollutants hence making the environment pollution free.

The need of the hour is not just fuel but clean fuel therefore the best possible option out of the above mentioned fuels has to be chosen keeping in mind the availability and the level of pollution or maybe destruction that the particular fuel can cause.
