Abstract:
The main purpose of the FDI Inflows to Fermentation Industries would be to provide an all round development of the sector. As the Fermentation Industries supply intermediary products to many industries, the FDI inflow also depends on the performance of these sectors.
The FDI Inflows to Fermentation Industries would help the development of the particular sector. The Fermentation Industry is one of the oldest industries in the world. The span of the industry has increased and presently it encompasses industries such as, alcohol industry, dairy products industry, biotechnology industry, food industry, pharmaceuticals, tea manufacturing, organic fertilizer industry, etc.

- In the year 2003, the number of approval was 85, out of which 23 were technical and 62 were financial, the amount of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) approved was ` 20801.72 million and the percentage of contribution towards total FDI was 0.73 %
- In the year 2004, the number of approval was 58, out of which 17 were technical and 41 were financial, the amount of FDI approved was ` 11255.13 million and the percentage of contribution towards total FDI was 0.62 %
