Mahaan Foods was incorporated as a private limited company on March 13th, 1987 and it was converted into a public limited company on June 22nd, 1994. The company has a very wide distribution network of around 100,000 retailers and more than 800 distributors that are spread across the fifteen states in India.
Mahaan Foods also has relations with more than 600 companies across the country for servicing their requirements for dairy ingredients. Mahaan Foods also takes up contract manufacturing of nutraceutical dairy, pharma, health care and food products for the topmost local companies and multinational for it has an installed capacity for Glucon- D of around 3,900 MTPA. The company has its own R&D center and it spends around 1% of the total turnover in sales on R&D.
Mahaan Foods has established its own network for milk procurement in more than 1000 villages and it procures milk from over 30,000 families of farmers. The total income of Mahaan Foods amounted to ` 159.30 million in 2006 and in the next year, this figure came to ` 250.60 million. The total profit of the company stood at ` 1.00 million in 2006 ` 4.80 million in 2007.
