AstraZeneca Pharma India is the Indian arm of the pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca. This private pharmaceutical giant has a presence across all continents of the world. AstraZeneca Pharma's parent company 'Astrazeneca' operates its Indian arm from Bangalore.
AstraZeneca Pharma is one of the most respected innovations and generic based pharmaceuticals manufacturing company of the world. The AstraZeneca the parent company of AstraZeneca Pharma India sells its products in about 100 countries, has 27 manufacturing facilities and 11 major research centers. AstraZeneca employs around 65,000 personnel worldwide.
AstraZeneca India, has a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility AstraZeneca Research Foundation India is located at Yelahanka in Bangalore. This center conforms to all stringent international manufacturing standards, like that of WHO cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) norms. Further, the center is also an ISO 14001 certified company, with full-fledged environment management system in place. AstraZeneca India Pvt. Limited is aggressively working on the development of new chemical entities for the treatment of infectious diseases of the developing world like Tuberculosis, which needs newer and modern therapies. AstraZeneca's RandD facility in India has around 90 scientists developing novel therapeutic agents. Its newly built state-of-the-art process R&D facility will accommodate 50 scientists and associated support staff. The Bangalore center of AstraZeneca's have houses both, the Discovery and the Process RandD house, which will facilitate better scientific interactions and minimize development time.
