Excel Industries began its functions in 1941. Excel Industries Limited is the leader in crop protection chemicals for the Industry as well as the farming community. Besides these, Excel Industries have become famous for its range of specialty and performance chemicals.
Excel is proud of its Environment and Biotech division which had showed its prowess in the field of Solid Waste Management and in development of Biopesticides. Initially, Excel Industries Ltd was engaged in kitchen laboratory in 1941. Gradually, it turned into an industry leader in the area of agro-chemicals and agro-chemical intermediates. Later, it expanded its chemicals manufacturing range and manufactured Water treatment chemicals and Polymer Additives.
Excel Industries is the pioneer in rapid conversion of Municipal Solid Waste to organic compost. The agro business division of this company became a separate company, Excel Crop Care Limited in 2003. In the present times, Excel comprises three divisions - Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals and Environment and Biotech.
Excel Industries not only develops and manufactures chemical products, but also exports chemicals. Besides, its research facilities in Mumbai and at the manufacturing locations have achieved success. Excel Industries has been awarded for its dedication and excellence in the field of chemicals. In 2004, it bagged the National Energy Conservation Award (Second Prize) in chemical sector and the International Spirit at work award. Other awards received by this company are ICMA Award for Excellence in Management of Health, Safety and Environment, Greentech Safety Silver Award and the Maharashtra Safety Award.
