Emami Limited has been in the business of manufacturing personal, beauty and Health care products over the last quite a few decades. Emami manufactures Herbal and Ayurvedic products through the use of modern scientific laboratory practices. This blend enables Emami to manufacture products that are mild, safe and effective. The Emami Group's product basket comprises over 20 products, the major being Boroplus Antiseptic Cream, Navratna Oil, Bororplus Prickly Heat Powder, Sona Chandi Chyawanprash and Amritprash, Mentho Plus Pain Balm, Fast Relief, Golden Beauty Talc, Madhuri Range of Products and others.

Activities

Having started operation in the year 1995, CRI Limited today has established itself as the undisputed leader in manufacturing Quality Tips and Refills for Ball Pens in India.

Emami Paper Mills Limited has set up a 5 megawatt coal based Co-generation Power Plant (CPP) in Balasore which was operational from Dec., 2000. The CPP has been set up with modern equipments and is one of the most efficient and best CPP.

Gulmohar was established in 1964, it was a sick company referred to BIFR, which was taken over by the Emami Group in 1992. The Unit is producing 15000 MT per annum of Newsprint and Writing and Printing paper, by recycling of waste paper. Total Production of the unit is sold in the Eastern and North Eastern part of our country.

Emami Shoppers’ City, Calcutta’s first and only world class shopping center, located in the heart of the city at 3, Lord Sinha Road is all set to redefine the concept of shopping in Calcutta.

Performance

Emami reported a 27.20% rise in net profit at Rs 8.65 crore for the second quarter (Q2) ended September 30, ’06, compared to a Rs 6.80 crore net in the earlier corresponding quarter. The profit follows a 32.25% growth in July-September period net sales revenue at Rs 64.75 crore (Rs 48.96 crore).

While net sales for the said Q2 rose by 32.25 %, other income for the quarter under review stood at Rs 26 lakhs (Rs 49 lakhs). Depreciation costs was marginally up at Rs 5.39 crore for the quarter compared to Rs 5.05 crore in the corresponding previous quarter. Profit before tax was Rs 9.58 crore in the said quarter against Rs 7.25 crore in the corresponding previous quarter. Emami is currently awaiting Kolkata High Court approval for merger of JB Marketing & Finance with itself.
