JBF Industries was established in as a private limited company but in 1986, it was renamed JBF Synthetics Ltd. and was changed into a public limited company. Again in 1989, the company converted its name to the existing one - JBF Industries Ltd.

In Vapi, JBF Industries has set up a manufacturing unit for the production of dyes and intermediates.

JBF Industries strictly maintains the quality of its products and follows the ISO 9001 standards. For its environmental management, the company has been awarded the ISO 14001 certification. The total income of the JBF Industries amounted to ` 2898.80 million in 2005-2006 and the next year this figure amounted to ` 4953.80 million. The net profit of the company amounted to ` 165.40 million in 2005-2006 and the next year the figure stood at ` 264.70 million.
