The urea production unit of Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chemicals is strategically situated at the Kakinada port, facilitating transfer of raw materials and finished products The plant is aided with natural gas and resorts to economical consumption of energy and covers an area of 1130 acres. The company has plans to exploit the reserves of natural gas at Krishna-Godavari basin to increase its production capacity from 1.2 million tonnes at present to 1.7 million tonnes on an yearly basis, in the near future. The plant is facilitated with books on latest technological developments and uses ASPEN PLUS as well as AUTOCAD softwares for process simulation and drafting activities respectively. The plant has training facilities to up grade the standards of the company by providing proper knowledge about the management of the latest instruments.

Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chemicals is involved in the production of mainly products like urea and anhydrous ammonia. To manufacture best quality urea the ingredients required are water, biuret and nitrogen in the right proportion. The preparation of anhydrous ammonia water and oil are mainly utilized and is consequently used in the production of herbicides, fertilizers, insecticides and explosives. Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chemicals is also engaged in the marketing of fertilizers like diammonium phosphate, chelated zinc, potassium chloride, zinc sulphate mono hydrate, di-sodium icta borate tetra hydrate, zinc sulphate heptahydrate and so on, produced following the specifications set down by 1985 order for fertilizer control.
