Wockhardt is an India-based generic and innovative pharmaceutical manufacturing company. The main business activities of Wockhardt involve manufacture of bio-pharmaceuticals, nutrition products, vaccines, and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
The company is also involved in preparing pharmaceutical formulations. Wockhardt has its headquarters in Mumbai (India) and has manufacturing facilities in UK, Ireland and France. It also has business subsidiaries in countries like US, UK, Ireland and France and a good number of marketing offices in Africa, Russia, Central and South East Asia.
Wockhardt earns a sizable quantum of its revenue from European market and has made five acquisitions in the aforesaid market. The company has already ventured into the manufacturing of biotechnological products.
Wockhardt registered an annual turnover of US$ 650 million in 2006-2007 and has noted a market capitalization of over US$ 1billion.
Wockhardt shares are listed in National Stock Exchange (NSE), India Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), India; and Luxembourg Stock Exchange, Europe. Mr Habil Khorakiwala presently chairs the company.
