Duncans Industries Limited is almost synonymous with the tea production in India. It has made a profound impact in the tea industry since 1951. Apart from that, the company began focusing on 4 more areas viz., power generation, chemicals, petrochemicals, and fertilizers.

The fertilizer plant of Duncans Industry Limited is located at Panki, Uttar Pradesh. It has a production capacity of 722,000 metric tons of Urea. The other fertilizers manufactured by the Duncan Group are potassic fertilizers and phosphatic and potassic fertilizer. The Urea plant had suspended its work in March, 2002 but resumed production on June, 2005.

The Kanpur Electricity Supply Company had provided the Duncans Kanpur Plant with a new 160 MVA transformer for resuming its operations. Priority emphasis has been given on increasing the supply of fertilizers, protecting farmer rights, and hence, contributing to the growth in agricultural production.

Fertilizers manufactured by Duncans Industries Limited are used for the following agricultural purposes:

• Urea - meant for a large variety of soils and crops and often used as a nitrogenous fertilizer.
• Potassic fertilizer - used for improving quality of crops
• Phosphatic fertilizer - primary plant nutrient, which is chemically treated to make it more soluble

Duncans Industries Limited has definitely made a mark in tea production and is committed towards accelerating its production of fertilizers as well.
