Inflation touched 9%
Inflation rate with close to 9% reached its all time high in last 13 years and economists warn that it's still not the inflation peak, it may soar up to 9.2%. Wholesale price index, the most closely watched inflation measure in India touched 3.5 years high crossing RBI's target of 5.5% for the financial year 2008-09.

BSE tumbles down by 250 points
On Tuesday, 3rd June 2008, BSE Sensex lost more than 250 point dipping below the 16 K mark. Triggered by the fear of hike in fuel prices and weakening trends in global stock markets, sensex fell down to 15, 904.21. NSE Sensex did not show any good signs either and moved down by 32. 30 points it reached 4, 707. 30.
