New software enables deaf people to 'see' sound

A new software, named Lumisonic enables hearing impaired persons to 'see' sound. The Lumisonic software promotes a more wholesome interactive experience previously denied to deaf persons. The software has been developed by Mick Grierson from Goldsmiths, University of London.

The funding behind the development of Lumisonic software has been provided by the UK based Sonic Arts Network and the Arts and Humanities Research Council. Lumisonic made its debut at the Frank Barnes School for Deaf Children in London.
