Strengths and Opportunities of FSEZ

The Strengths and Opportunities of FSEZ is one of the major factors for the growth and the sustenance of the Falta Special Economic Zone (FSEZ). Set up in the State of West Bengal in the year 1984 by the Central Government of India, the Falta Special Economic Zone is among the several other economic zones established in different parts of the country. Falta Special Economic Zone comes under the SEZ Act and rules of the Central Government of India. The primary purpose of the FSEZ is to increase business activities, generation of employment, promotion of goods and services in the international market and attract foreign direct investments to the industries in West Bengal. The Falta Special Economic Zone is exempt from the duties, tariffs, cess and tax payments.

The factors influencing the Strengths and Opportunities of FSEZ are the infrastructure facilities, the availability of the basic elements of production, the competitiveness of the SEZ unit pertaining to the other such units in the domestic scenario or in the global arena, the SEZ policies of the state government, etc.

  • The supply of power is adequate and uninterrupted and the facility has stand by measures in case of power shut downs

  • The capacity of water supplied is nearly 1 million liters per day
