Symbiosis Pune
SIBM or Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, located at Pune, is one of the most revered business institutes in India. Established in 1978, Symbiosis has been striving hard to make new records in field of business education. SIBM Pune has many firsts to its credit. In 1979, it became the first institute to organize a seminar outside the city of Pune. It continued its suite and in 1982, took the initiative of introducing the concept of Internship/Summer Training to the students.
SIBM provides number of management courses to its students. It includes two year MBA Full time, One Year Diploma Weekend Programmes and Executive MBA Weekend Programme.
This pioneer educational institute is a flagship institute of the Symbiosis society. Initially affiliated to the Pune University, SIBM is today an integral part of the Symbiosis. Due to its efforts in the field of education and its diverse achievements, Symbiosis Society was conferred the status of the Deemed University in 2002 by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. In 2006 it was granted the status of the University- Symbiosis International University vide UGC notification. Symbiosis University has more than 33 schools, colleges and institutes, spread over an area of 9 acres in Pune. The main aim of the symbiosis university is to provide quality education to the students in the atmosphere of universal brotherhood, which is followed by all the institutes including the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management. The university mainly known for its B-school- SIBM, has diversified into many other fields. It has been providing distance education to students all over the India as well as abroad, through its Center for Distance Learning(SCDL). SCIT, Symbiosis Center for Nursing and ELITS are some of its other well known institutes.
