Admission to the 2 year Master in Business programme in IIMs is based on a rigorous selection method comprising of personal interview, group discussions, writing ability exam and scores in the Common Admission or CAT. CAT is a management aptitude test conducted by the IIMs primarily to judge and rank candidates for the post graduate programme. It is an online test that can be taken by the eligible candidate once a year. As per Indian Government norms, the the IIMs reserve seats for SC candidates (15% seats), ST candidates (7.5% seats), NC-OBC candidates (27%) and for people with disabilities (3%). Scholarships are also offered to meritorious students who would like financial backing.
