Bihar Tourism is one of the largest and profitable industries of the state of Bihar in India. The tourism sector of Bihar is well reputed for the incredible beauty of the historical monuments, ancient temples and the rich wildlife reserves offered by the state. The Indian ministry of tourism has allotted ` 1.17 crores for the promotion of the infrastructure and development of the tourist destinations in Bihar. The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation also plays a significant role in encouraging and attracting more and more people to come over to visit the state of Bihar.

The state of Bihar is known for the historical sites and the noteworthy places belonging to different religious groups, specially those of Buddhism, Jainism, and Sufism. The entire state is enriched with beautiful scenic beauty along with the colorful fairs and festivals, handicrafts, and wildlife reserves. Some of the most worthy visiting spots under the Bihar tourism are like Rajgir, Patliputra or modern Patna, Vaishali, Bodhgaya, Nalanda, Patna Saheb among others. Between the months of October and March, Bihar tourism sector is flooded with tourists from all parts of the world.

There are many Buddhist monasteries in the city of BodhGaya, which is an important travel destination for sacred tourism along with Patna Saheb, which is the birth place of Guru Govind Singh.

Wildlife tourism flourishes in Bihar with the national parks and sanctuaries nurturing numerous animals and varied species of birds. Some of the most visited wildlife reserves under Bihar tourism are like-

Recently in 2007, the tourism minister Nand Kishore Yadav, have announced their decision to undertake certain promotional programmes for enriching the tourism of Bihar.
