Delhi Tourism embodies a seamless blend of the modern and the traditional. The Indian capital has always been a tourism hotspot due to the sheer range of tourist attractions, diversity, and culture that Delhi signifies.

Delhi has a lot of tourist attractions and most of them are ancient, thereby testifying to India's heritage and culture. Some of the most popular tourist attractions in Delhi are India gate, Jantar Mantar, Humayun's Tomb, Chandni chowk, Red Fort, and Parliament house.

The places to visit in Delhi have been described in brief below:

  • Birla Mandir: Also known as the Laxmi Narayan Mandir, this temple got its name from its builder Raja Baldev Birla. The temple was often visited by Mahatma Gandhi. It is home to many deities which makes a popular place for pilgrims.

  • Humayun's Tomb: Tourists would often be reminded of the Taj Mahal when they look at Humayun's Tomb due to the similarities in coloring and architecture. The monument was built by Haji Begum, grieving wife of Humayun in his memory. It is situated alongside a river and has wonderful fountains that are unfortunately not functional anymore.

  • Chandni Chowk: Once a commercial market for the Mughals, Chandni Chowk is known as one of India's best wholesale markets dealing in electronic goods, textiles, and consumer goods.

  • Jantar Mantar: The original purpose of this monument was to observe the movements of heavenly bodies. It is located at Connaught Place and was built in 1724. It still stands strong and is extremely popular with children.

  • India Gate: This monument was built in memory of Indian soldiers who lost their lives in World War I. In 1911 when it was built, the monument was called all India War Memorial. One can spot the names of the Indian Army soldiers inscribed on the walls of India Gate.

  • Red fort: Another Mughal endeavour, the Red Fort is a very popular tourist spot due to its peerless architecture and the fact that it was built in 1648! The Prime Minister of India delivers the Independence Day speech each year from the Red Fort.

Other great tourist spots in Delhi include the Jama Masjid, Qutab Minar, Nizammuddin, and Lodhi gardens, Lodhi Tomb, Lotus Temple, . Exotic holiday resorts in Delhi are Amar Vilas, Raj Vilas, Ananda Resort, Wildflower Resort, Vanya Vilas, Udai Vilas, and Devi Garh.
