Gadgets

Gadgets are technological devices or appliances that are designed to perform a function. These gizmos have become very popular in the 21st century. Ipods, camcorders, camera computers, gadgets for kids, gadgets online shop, cool gizmos, electronic gadgets, handycams, mobile phones, cell phones, gadget shops, spy gadgets, fitness gadgets, office gadgets and personal gadgets- are some common terms in use today.

Gadgets came into existence in 1800s. Gadget was the name given to the first atomic bomb by the scientists of the Manhattan Project, tested at the Trinity site. The various types of gadgets are:

• Mechanical gadgets

  Some good examples of mechanical gadgets are clocks, bicycles, and thermometers. They are the simplest forms of gadgets.
  
  

• Electronic gadgets

  transistor radio, television, cell phones and the quartz watch are some electronic gadgets. As the name suggests, electronic gadgets are based on transistors and integrated circuits, where a source of electric power is used.
  
  

• Programmable gadgets

  in modern times, these gadgets based on a microprocessor and have flash memory are used widely. Other feature of these gadgets is embedded software which controls the cars and homes. Some examples of gadgets are notebook computer and mobile phone.
  
  

• Application gadgets

  another type of gadget is the application gadget. These gadgets run in an environment that controls multiple gadgets. The best examples of this type of gadgets are Google Gadgets, Microsoft Gadgets, and Apple Widgets.
  
  

Life is impossible without gadgets- that is what the present generation thinks! And indeed it is true!
