Annual Plans of Indian States 2008-09
The Annual Plans of Indian states 2008-09 has been announced recently for some of the Indian states. Key annual plans of some of the Indian states are discussed as below -
Jharkhand
The Jharkhand Annual Plan 2008-09 was finalized with an annual disbursement of Rs.8015 crores, including an additional allocation of Rs 50 crores for special projects.
Primary focus area would be development of the social sector and human capital to negate unemployment and low per capita income.
Sikkim
The Sikkim Annual Plan 2008-09 has been finalized and a disbursement of Rs 852 crores has been granted with an additional disbursement of Rs 77 crores from the centre.
The state to concentrate more for the development of physical infrastructure and to encourage & involve private partners.
Himachal Pradesh
The Himachal Pradesh Annual Plan 2008-09 was finalized and an outlay of Rs. 2400 crores, including an additional assistance of Rs 450 crores form the Central Government was finalized.
To emphasize more on the development and growth of the horticulture, floriculture and herbs sectors.
State Annual Plans (In India)
West Bengal
Rs 11602.38 crores, including additional Central Assistance for special projects, were sanctioned in West Bengal Annual Plan 2008-09.
To concentrate more on small and micro enterprises (SME), agriculture based activities, and infrastructure development activities.
To extend the Kisan Credit Card facility and provisions of loans for the self-help groups.
Uttarakhand
The Uttarakhand Annual Plan 2008-09 was fixed with an outlay of Rs. 4775 crores, with an additional assistance Central Government Aid of Rs. 300 crores for developing the infrastructure for the SAF Winter Games and Kumbh Mela, and several other projects.
To develop high value tourism.
Bihar
Bihar Annual Plan 2008-09 was proposed with an annual disbursement of around Rs13000 crores including an additional outlay of about Rs 100 crores. Satisfactory mid-term performance would further attract additional funds of Rs. 500 crores.
To boost various sectors like watershed development, power, forestry, irrigation, and road connectivity.
Rajasthan
The Rajasthan Annual Plan 2008-09 was fixed with an annual outlay of around Rs 14000 crores including an additional assistance of about Rs. 100 crores from the center.
Manipur
Rs 1660 crores including an additional assistance of around Rs. 550 crores were finalized for the Manipur Annual Plan 2008-09.
Sectors like power, health services, road and education to receive special attention.
Jammu & Kashmir
Jammu & Kashmir Annual Plan 2008-09 was finalized at Rs 4,500 crores.
Improvement of Dal Lake and its catchment area program.
Mizoram
The sanctioned amount for Mizoram Annual Plan 2008-09 was Rs.1,000 crores, which also includes an assistance of Rs 70 crores form the centre.
Kerala
Kerala Annual Plan 2008-09 was finalized at Rs.7700 crore including an additional assitance of Rs 100 crore from the center
Development of the education sector, skill development, and tourism along with the small scale industries to be the main focus area
