Shri Mahila Griha Udyog was established by seven member sisters on 15th March, 1959 and it is an organization for women. The various products manufactured by Shri Mahila Griha Udyog are bakery products, masala, vadi, chapati, papad, appalam, and SASA detergent powder. The organization has grown to comprise of 67 branches and 35 divisions that are distributed all over India.
The organization started with ` 80 and it has grown over the years to have 35 divisions and 67 branches that are spread all across India.
Shri Mahila Griha Udyog had at the beginning around seven members and it has increased to more than 40,000 sisters throughout the country. The organization has been successful due to the determined efforts that has been made by the member sisters. The products that are manufactured by Shri Mahila Griha Udyog are made from the ingredients that are of superior quality and they undergo strict tests for quality control at each step of processing in order to make sure that the products that are produced are of high grade quality.
The President of Shri Mahila Griha Udyog is Smt. Jyoti J. Naik and the Vice President is Smt. Pratibha E. Sawant. The various awards received by Shri Mahila Griha Udyog are the Best Village Industries Institution for the time period from 1998- 1999 to 2000- 2001 and also the award for the Best Village Industry Institution in 2003. The sales of Shri Mahila Griha Udyog amounted to ` 298 crore in 1999- 2000 and the next year, this figure stood at ` 288 crore. The organization's turnover amounted to ` 3 billion and exports stood at ` 100 million in 2002.
