IG Petrochemicals , one of the premier and largest Phthalic Anhydride producing companies in India. IG Petrochemicals was incorporated in 1988 as 100% Export Oriented Unit.

IG Petrochemicals produces international quality Phthalic Anhydride which has created international reputation. IG Petrochemicals is amongst the top 3 producers of Phthalic Anhydride in the world. Moreover, the effluent water which is rich in Maleic acid resulting from production of Phthalic Anhydride is recycled to manufacture Maleic Anhydride. Similarly, the Phthalic Anhydride distillation residues, like high boiling residue and low boiling residue, are mixed together and fired in the heat transfer oil heater along with the furnace oil as fuel.

IG Petrochemicals is a Six-Sigma practicing company with ISO 9000/2000 certification.

Activities:

The main activity of IG Petrochemicals revolves around the production of Phthalic Anhydride, which is mainly used in the manufacture of Plasticizers for production of PVC products, shoe soles and other commodities, Alkyd Resins for manufacturing of paints, as an intermediate in production of dyes and pigments, and in production of Unsaturated Polyester Resins. IG Petrochemicals has enhanced their production capacity from 45,000 MTPA (1997) to 1,10,000 MTPA to tap growing markets. IG Petrochemicals future plans include, capacity enhancement and product diversification into petrochemicals. IG Petrochemicals Limited is an environment conscious and responsible company and environmental balance is utmost concern. IG Petrochemicals plant is located at MIDC, Taloja in Raigad District, Maharashtra, India. IGPL operates it's plant based on the processes of the licensor, M/s Wacker Chemie GmbH, Germany. The process is Wacker's Von-Heyden's Low Energy Process and the plant has been engineered by M/s mg Lurgi Frankfurt, Gerrmany.

Performance:

IG Petrochemicals has registered a turnover of Rs 58,097.52 lakhs for the year ended 31st March 2006-07. IG Petrochemicals has posted Net Profit to the tune of Rs 2,968.93 lakhs for the year ended 31st March 2006-07.
