National Fertilizer, incorporated in 1974 , is the second largest producer of Nitrogenous Fertilizers in the country. With more than 31 years experience in the fertilizer industry, NFL is known for the manufacture of urea and bio-fertilizers. It has five Urea Plants, at Nangal and Bathinda (Punjab), Panipat (Haryana) and Vijaipur (Madhya Pradesh), Nitrogenous fertilizer plant in Madhya Pradesh and Bio-fertilizers Plant at Indore.

Industrial products like Methanol, Nitric Acid, Sulfur, Liquid Oxygen, Liquid Nitrogen NFL also plays a primary role in the areas of Project Management, Plant operation and Maintenance etc.

Performance:

All National Fertilizer Plants have been certified for ISO-9001(2000) for conforming to international quality standards and International Environmental Standard i.e. ISO-14001. National fertilizer has recorded a profit (after tax) of Rs.116.40 crores in 2005-06, it produced 33.44 lakh tones of urea recording a capacity utilization of 103.5% and had a record production of Biofertilizers of 175 MT against the installed capacity of 100 MT. NFL produced 4,88,789 MT of Neem Coated Urea in 2005-06. National Fertilizer recorded a sale of 33.63 lakh MT of urea. National Fertilizer achieved sales turnover of Rs.3590.53 crores compared to Rs.3474.06 crores for the previous year. In terms of quantity, 33.63 lakh MT of urea was sold against 34.73 lakh MT sold during the previous year. Organization:
