About FCI Aravali Gypsum & Minerals India Limited (FAGMIL)

FCI Aravali Gypsum And Minerals India Limited, previously known as Jodhpur Mining Organization, was a segment of the public sector undertaking, Fertilizer Corporation of India Ltd. The main activity of FAGMIL or FCI Aravali Gypsum And Minerals India Limited was to supply mineral gypsum to Sindri Fertilizer Plant. The gypsum produced is the basic raw material required for Ammonium Sulphate production. From the year 2003, there was a merger of the Jodhpur Mining Organization with the FCI Aravali Gypsum And Minerals India Ltd.

There were nine mines under the Jodhpur Mining Organization producing gypsum. Of the 265 gypsum deposits of the FCI Aravali Gypsum And Minerals India Limited, with a reserve of the mineral of more than 100 million tonnes, most of it were under Jodhpur Mining Organization. The gypsum mines are situated in different parts of India like at Mohangarh, Kavas, Bikaner, Suratgarh, and Ramsinghpur. In Asia the best quality gypsum is supplied by the Mohangarh mines, situated in the district Jaisalmer of Rajasthan. Apart from these mines, there are some new mines also under the FCI Aravali Gypsum And Minerals India Limited like those in Thethar, Padampura, Khal, Randhisar, and Raghunathpura-III.

The gypsum powder produced in the FCI Aravali Gypsum And Minerals India Ltd. can be used in some associated industries like as a source of Sulphur, in Cement Industries, in Plaster of Paris Industries, in Gypsum Fiber Board Industries, and in reclamation of sodic land.
