Gammon India Limited is one of the leading Construction companies in India today. The company was established by late Mr. J.C.Gammon in 1919 as a firm of Civil Engineers & Contractor which in 1922 was incorporated as a Private Limited Company under the name of J. C. Gammon (Bombay) Pvt. Ltd. The firm went public in 1962 and was renamed as Gammon India Limited.

Bulk Storage Structures:
Large scale production of goods, bumper crops and valuable reserves call for structure designed for safe storage and quick dispension. Silos and godowns are vital for meeting the primary need of storage.

Energy Projects & High Rise Structure:
At the core of progress is the generation of power and helping power generation are Thermal, Nuclear and Hydel Power Projects. Gammon has given shape to effective power generation in India by constructing Power stations, cooling towers and chimneys for many power projects.

Industrial Structures:
Gammon has revolutionized the construction of industrial structures by pioneering the shell roof construction and innovative use of precast prestressed roof elements.

Beginning in 1946, when Gammon constructed the jetty at Trivandrum, Gammon has sailed a long way in the field of Marine structures.

Tunnel Engineering:
In the last few years, Gammon has accomplished its unquestioned lead through its bold approach of adapting the latest tunneling technology.

Public Utility structure:
For the Chandigarh Assembly Hall designed by the celebrated architect La Corbusier, Gammon built the Hyperbolic natural draught cooling tower to provide natural cooling without the use of air conditioning equipment.

Transport Engineering:
Among the outstanding achievements of Gammon in Bridge engineering one of the best is The Lubha bridge built across a 30 m. deep gorge-the longest single span concrete bridge ever constructed in India.

Performance

Gammon India has declared its second quarter results. The company's Q2 net profit was up at ` 26.2 crore versus ` 15.4 crore. Its net sales were up at ` 378.4 crore versus ` 286.3 crore as on Nov 01, 2006.

The unused proceeds of ` .7500 Lacs raised from GDR issue made in January 2006 was utilized for meeting working capital requirements to the extent of ` .1500 Lacs and the balance amount of ` .6000 Lacs is still lying in Fixed deposits with Banks as on 31st December, 2007.
