Abstract:

FDI Inflows to Earth- moving Machinery industry in India has grown steadily since 1991 when the Indian economy was opened to foreign investments. FDI Inflows to Earth- moving Machinery between August 1991 and March 2007 was 75.07 million US dollars.

Earth- moving machinery in India:

The various kinds of earth moving machinery manufactured in India are bulldozers, loaders, hydraulic excavators, pay loaders, tractors, jaw crushers, and compressors. The major companies in the earth- moving machinery industry in India are Getech Industries, National Hydraulics, Maniar & Co., Hytech Earthmoving Engineers, Marsman India Limited, and Kamdhenu Engineering Company. The Indian government has allowed foreign direct investment in the earth- moving machinery industry of the country.

Amount of FDI inflows to earth- moving machinery in India:

The total amount of FDI Inflows to Earth- moving Machinery industry in India stood at US$ 73.91 million during August 1991 to December 2005. FDI Inflows to Earth- moving Machinery industry in India during this period, constituted 0.26% of the total foreign direct investment in the country between August 1991 and December 2005.
