Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (Pvt.) Ltd. (HMSI) is a wholly owned subsidiary of
Honda Motor Company Ltd., Japan. It came into existence on 20th August 1999. The foundation stone of the manufacturing unit was laid down on 14th December 1999 and the factory was completed and started production in January 2001.
Honda Motor Company, Japan with its headquarters in Tokyo has manufacturing operations in 32 countries. It is one of the big players in the manufacturing of two wheelers across the world. The HMSI factory is spread over 52 acres at Manesar, Gurgaon (Haryana).
