Dial-up Internet is a kind of broadband access that utilizes telephone connectivity. The customer's personal computer or router exercises an affixed modem linked to a telephone wire to dial into the Internet service provider's (ISP) nodule to set up a router to router connectivity. It is later established to use direct Internet Protocol package linking the client's apparatus and hosts.
The term dial up was invented during the initial period of PC telecommunications when router were required to link workstations or PCs operating workstation emulator software to processors, mini-PCs, virtual services and dispatch systems through a telephone line.
Another major benefit of the dial up internet service is that the user only uses customary phone line to link dial-up connections. This is helpful in situations when the room does not have WIFI connectivity.
Among its disadvantage is its slow speed against the other connection types. When linked to the broadband the same telephone wire cannot be connected for calls. Moreover, such connectivity transmits data through an analogue contour. So when the data is transmitted, it is first transformed into analogue mode from digital format and vice versa when the data is received. This indirectly adds to the performance operating cost and inversely affects the connectivity.
