The Maharashtra Agro Industries Development Corporation Ltd (MAIDC) came into existence in 1965. The main motive of MAIDC was the promotion of modernization in the agricultural business sector through the process of mechanization. A solely profit-oriented organization, MAIDC has various branches.

The mainstay of MAIDC's activities is the production of pesticides, fertilizers, agro-engineering products, animal feed, and processed food (NOGA). The following is a ready reckoner of MAIDC's production activities:
  • Pesticides -The company distributes and manufactures a wide range of pesticides under the brand name of 'Krushiudyog' and earns the maximum revenues from its pesticides sales, which amounts to almost ` 50 crore in Maharashtra alone. The Dicofol 18.5%EC, Imidacloprid 17.8%SL, Sulphur 80%WP, and Carbofuran 3% Granules are few types of pesticides produced by the company.
  • Fertilizers - MAIDC today has become one of the principal companies that manufacture and distribute fertilizers. This division has grown hugely ever since its inception. Urea, PPL, RCF, IPL etc. are the fertilizers produced by MAIDC.
  • Agro-Engineering - The main aim of this branch was to introduce new kinds of implements, promote the sale and repairing of tractors, sale of tractor spare parts, and conduct front line demonstration of new equipment like Urea Brequeting and Combine Harvester. The main motive is to lessen the workload of farmers in India and also to make new equipment for small-scale industries.
  • Animal Feed - MIDC is a pioneer in producing and selling balanced compounded cattle feed. The main aim of this branch is to improve the business of animal-husbandry by producing cost-effective, good quality animal feed consisting of pig, sheep, cattle feed etc. This branch of MAIDC has achieved a lot over the years and in 2002-03 it earned the ISI Mark License.
  • Processed food - NOGA or Nagpur Orange Grower's Association (NOGA) is another division of the MAIDC. Products of this brand like jams, jellies, and sauces are quite popular not just in the domestic sector but also in hotels, restaurants, and even companies such as Air India and Indian Airlines. NOGA brand products are also well-known in the overseas markets of Nepal, UK, and the Gulf.
  • Projects - The main projects of MAIDC are the Food Park, MFPI Scheme, Government of Maharashtra Scheme, and Flower Auctioneering.
