Esab India Limited was established in the year 1987 with the acquisition of the welding trade of the Peico Electronics & Electricals Limited which is presently known as Philips India Limited.
The Esab India has been continuing with the expansion plans in India with the takeover of the Indian Oxygen Limited's welding segment and Flotech Welding and Cutting Systems Limited. The company is also into a joint venture with the Maharashtra Weldaids Limited. Mr. Michael Foster is the Chairman of the Company.

The Esab India also exports these products to the Middle East, Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa, USA, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh
