The manufacturing plants of Ballarpur Industries Limited BILT maintained operational links through an extensive network of dealers and sub-dealers, which enabled the company to distribute paper products to publishing companies and office spaces and printing operations across various regions of India.

In the past few years the company has reported tough financial times which saw a great reduction in its operations. From recent financial reports we see that in the quarter which ended in December 2025 the company reported sales of about ₹10.77 crore and a net loss of around ₹91.65 crore.

In the report which covered the quarter to March 2025 we see that the company had sales of around Rs 2.74 crore and a net loss of almost Rs 30.28 crore. It was also reported that the company at one time was run by Gautam Thapar as Chairman and R. R. Vederah as Managing Director. Presently the company is in the midst of restructure which is being supervised by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).

Ballarpur Industries supported rural communities through its farm forestry programme. Under this programme, farmers planted trees used for paper production. This activity provided farmers with an additional source of income.
