Sakthi Sugars Limited ranks amongst the largest producers of sugar in India. The company works with of a cane crushing capacity of more than 13500 tonnes. White Crystal Sugar is the main product of the company. This variety of sugar is available in three grades, namely, Grade S 30; Grade M 30; Grade L 30.

Sugar manufactured by Sakthi Sugars Limited has met global standards of ICUMSA 35 units maximum and hence, has a huge market overseas. The company has two big plants namely, Ethanol plant and Co-generation plant. The Ethanol plant has a capacity to produce 15000 KL of Anhydrous Alcohol and was established in the year 2002.

Sakthi Sugars plants are located at Sivaganga, Sakthinagar, and Dhenkanal respectively. The Sakthinagar Unit has a crushing capacity of 7500 tonnes per day; the Sivaganga Unit has a crushing capacity of 4000 tonnes per day; while the Dhenkanal Unit has a crushing capacity of 2000 tonnes per day.

Mechanized harvesting is a highly notable feature of Sakthi Sugars where an Austoft 7000 Harvester is used for cutting over 400 tonnes of green cane daily. The canes are kept at a height of 5 feet. It helps in facilitating inter cropping of soil, which, in turn, enriches crops such as pulses, soyabeans, etc.

The Sakthi group has been laying emphasis on other core areas for development, such as Pollution control, health and education, industrial alcohol, etc. Significant contributions have been made towards social welfare and rural development. Social contribution of Sakthi Sugars include institutions like Sidha Hospital, Kasturba Gandhi Oral School for Hearing Impaired, Sidha Research Institute, Kasturba Gandhi Memorial De-addiction and Rehabilitation and Research Centre (Coimbatore), Leprosy project, Nallamuthu College, Kumaraguru College, and Nachimuthu Polytechnic.
