Petrol prices are on an unstoppable rise and despite the repeated protests and demonstrations against the rising price of petrol, the government is unable to find any solution to this problem. Already battling monster called corruption, rising petrol prices are making life of people more miserable than ever.

The price of petrol in Bhopal hiked for the first time in the year on January 16th when the prices surged in entire country. The cost of petrol took a hike of 6.42 rupees on 15th May 2011 and it now required people to shell out 68.20 rupees for a litre of petrol. The next hike was of 0.29 rupees and petrol was available for 68.49 rupees following 1st July 2011. Within two months petrol was expensive again and this time by 3.41 rupees. The price of petrol increased for the last time in 2011 on 4th November when it reached 73.85 rupees. The decline in the prices which was to follow was a pleasant surprise for the residents of Bhopal as well as rest of India. The present day cost of petrol in Bhopal is 70.6 rupees.
