The prices of petrol in India are increasing at a pace of global warming. The Government is at least concerned about the latter but increase in the prices of petrol time and again it seems, is none of the concerns of the Government of India. The price of petrol in India in 2011 surged five times before finally taking a decline.

The price of petrol in Aizwal on 16th January 2011 was 56.24 rupees. The residents of Aizwal had to pay 61.16 rupees for petrol after 15th May 2011. The price of petrol rising thrice again in the year after this on 1st July, 16th September and 4th November, reached 67.44 rupees on 4th November 2011. Giving some respite to the residents of Aizwal, the prices then showed a declining trend. People of Aizwal had to pay 2.22 rupees less for petrol from 16th of November when petrol was available for 65.22 rupees. Petrol is available in the city for 64.44 rupees/litre at the moment.
