Petrol Price Hike in Port Blair 2011

The price of petrol in Port Blair on 16th January 2011 was 50.54 rupees. Taking a hike of 6.28 rupees petrol reached 56.26 rupees on 15th May 2011. Inflating price of petrol was once again in news and it surged thrice again in the year. Petrol in Port Blair was available for 56.54 rupees, 59.11 rupees and 60.68 rupees respectively on 1st July, 16th September and 4th November 2011. The Government of India finally decided to give some relief to the citizens of Port Blair when the petrol prices were reduced by 1.94 rupees on 16th November 2011. The price of petrol declined once again on 1st of December. The petrol is available in Port Blair at present for 58.06 rupees.

What will be the next chapter to the story of Petrol Price in India is a question that everyone in India would like to have an answer for. Will the government give a New Year gift to the citizens by further reducing the petrol prices or is this only a ploy to calm the enraged populace for now. We will have to wait and watch.
