GTC Industries Ltd. was earlier known as Golden Tobacco (Pvt.) Ltd. and Shri Narsee Monjee set it up, in 1930. GTC Industries Ltd. is involved in the manufacture of cigarettes and it has grown to become one of the leading FMCG companies in India. The company produces various kinds of cigarettes in the American & Virginia blends that are of very high quality.

GTC Industries Ltd. also produces cigars in different flavors like peach, chocolate, vanilla, raspberry, strawberry, and menthol. The production units of the company are located at Vadodara, (Gujarat) and Mumbai, (Maharashtra). GTC Industries Ltd. has adopted the latest highly technologically advanced systems and this has helped it to receive the certification of ISO 9001:2000 for its Vadodara manufacturing unit. It also has a well-equipped Research & Development Centre, which has been recognized by the Indian government. GTC Industries Ltd. exports its products to many regions of the world such as Middle East, USA, Africa, and Central America.

The net sales of GTC Industries Ltd. was ` 1941.09 million in 2004 - 2005 and in 2005 - 2006 the net sales was ` 1784.70 million. In the year 2006 - 2007 the net sales are ` 1999.06 million. The total profit of GTC Industries Ltd. was ` 197.29 million in 2004 - 2005. In 2005- 2006 this figure stood at ` 198.74 million, and in 2006 - 2007 it increased to ` 517.97 million. The company has received the award for being the 3rd Best Exporter of Cigarettes, from the Tobacco Board of India, in 2004.
