Henkel Spic also known, as Henkel Spic India Ltd is the Indian arm of the German - based Henkel KGaA. The company is engaged with the manufacturing of products such as detergents, adhesives, cosmetics and toiletries. The parent company of Henkel is an international giant in the global consumer goods sector. The company manufactures international quality consumer goods in this sector.

Henkel Spic started its operation in India 1997 as a marketer of detergents. To have prominent presence in the Indian consumer goods market the company acquired some products from Shaw Wallace Company. It owned brands blockbuster FMCG brands like Margo (toilet soap), Brisk (household cleaner), Chek (detergent cake) and Fa (cosmetics).

These acquisitions by Henkel Spic in India propelled its growth in India and helped it to gain substantial market share from its competitors like Hindustan Lever (Uni Lever), Procter & Gamble and Nirma. This consolidation in the Indian FMCG market helped Henkel to use its Indian manufacturing base for exporting of Zeolite to other arms of Henkel KGaA. Further, the company also started contract manufacturing of FMCG products for third parties.

The growth prospects of Henkel Spic in India look bright. Henkel Spic registered substantial growth during the period starting from 1997 to 2001.

The company registered a growth in its net sales from ` 55 crores to ` 340 crores during the period starting from 1997 to 2001. In order to have a strong presence in India, Henkel established three subsidiaries - Henkel Chembond and Henkel Teroson (each 51% subsidiaries), and Loctite India (100% subsidiary).
