Modern offices are using attractively designed cluster work stations. Workstations are meant to be comfortable, convenient, and cost effective. Ideally, the furniture used for office tables or desks have petrochemicals like polypropylene which enable a convenient and efficient manufacturing process.

A normal workstation would comprise of a designer desk or a cluster, soft chairs with arm rests, computer, printer, keyboard, CPU, and a small drawer or locker. Today, workstations that meet high standards typically belong to call centers and other IT related offices.

Workstations must have the following facilities for enhancing employee convenience:

  • Ergonomic seating
  • Health and safety
  • Attractive designing

There are some equipment at workstations that use petrochemicals such as polystyrene. These are - paper trays, photocopiers, toners, cartridges, computer monitors, printers, fax machines, copier covers, and so on. Different grades of the polystyrene are used for different applications of the equipments. The chief applications are flammability rating, UV stability, flame retardants etc. The types of polystyrene used are divided into crystal, impact, and compound polystyrenes.

The advantages of using polystyrene are its impact-resistance, better surface quality, stiffness, and superior properties. Workstations these days are looking forward to providing superior comfort and safety to the employees. Workstations provide modern chairs that support the body and can be used for therapeutic purposes as well. These ergonomic chairs are meant to be comfortable for employees who sit at the workstation for long hours.

Those using computers for long hours in the office need to have protective screen layers that prevent eye and neck fatigue. Petrochemicals accessories fitted in the workstation have great value too.

Ergonomic workstations are a must in offices today. Workstations are being modified into structures that portray dynamic looks and futuristic designs. This has been possible with the use of petrochemicals that provide excellent durability and flexibility. Designer furniture inculcates more interest in the working environment and enhances employee comfort as well.

The state-of-the-art workstations of today are just another step towards facilitating a vibrant office atmosphere and increasing employee retention and efficiency.
